The Godfreys
Since 2007, we’ve been leavin’ ‘em wanting more! From providing a nice-and-chill ambiance to belting it out in the aisles, from intimate rooms to massive festivals, there’s nothing we love more than turning a crowd of strangers into a group of friends – all in just a few songs. And we’re proud to give them what they want. Pop, Rock, Country, Oldies and more; we can cater to the musical tastes of any audience.
Samantha Godfrey
vocals, piano, flute, and more | Wife
A passion for performance and talent galore – music is definitely in Samantha’s blood. It sure didn’t take long for her to find herself on stage; debuting in a high-school rock band alongside the other half of the The Godfreys’ duo, Dylan. Classically trained in piano, flute, and soprano voice, she was an academic hit, too – earning an honours degree in Music from McMaster University. This multitude of talents is only equaled by her beaming personality. Quite simply, audiences love her. Samantha performs regularly in various groups, including: The James Cameron Band, a modern-country act; a Latin fusion band, where she sings in Spanish; as a lounge performer for Cineplex; as well as playing flute and keys with The Godfreys. Her voice has also been featured in a series of popular Youtube videos abroad, as well as in character as a variety of favourite fairytale princesses. And when Samantha hits the stage, she brings plenty of energy and lots of fun.
Dylan Godfrey
bass, guitar, vocals | husband
If you can name it, he’ll play it. Dylan Godfrey has the gift of being able to learn a new song on the spot – often while performing. And, as you can imagine, that gets them out of their seats in a hurry. A Summa Cum Laude graduate with an honours degree in Music from York University, this talented bassist, guitarist, and backup vocalist has a diverse musical background and has played in almost every style of venue imaginable. He’s wowed crowds at local legions, all kinds of bars, private events, as well as a whole host of festivals – including TIFF, Toronto Jazz Fest, and Burlington’s famous Ribfest. Dylan’s played in tribute shows, covering the likes of Elvis, Tom Jones, and Buddy Holly, and then will shift gears to jam with traditional and modern country acts – even adding some Latin Fusion to the mix. Having the dynamic talent to play such a range of genres and venues is impressive on its own; but, being able to connect with each audience is what really sets Dylan apart from the rest.
